Programme Overview

The course gives students the creative and technical knowledge and skills they need to become professionals in the interior design industry. It encompasses the study of both Interior Architecture and Design within the built environment, while focusing on the human interface within given spaces. The emphasis is placed on space planning, creative problem-solving, communication skills, knowledge of building materials, construction, computer-aided drafting and the history of design. Students are expected to provide design solutions to a wide variety of complex real-life space problems.
Course Introduction

The objectives of the Advanced Diploma in Interior Design programme is to develop the students technical knowledge, creative skills and analytical ability that will enhance their professional competence in their chosen fields, taking into account the ever changing global environment. The students must learn to be flexible and sensitive to the changes in the current trends in modern business organization and management needs of the industry. They will develop their own individual strategies, and learn the intricacies of leadership and teamwork necessary in designing Interior spaces. The programme will introduce new ideas and practices and encourage them to think about the purposes of interior design in contemporary society.
